OSSFE 2027 - Call for Proposals

Open Source Software for Fusion Energy · June 1-3, 2027 · Madison, Wisconsin

Fusion is too important to build behind closed doors. OSSFE is the community conference for the open-source software powering fusion research and commercialisation, from plasma physics and materials to neutronics, tritium, and reactor engineering.

We're now inviting proposals. Whether you maintain a widely used code, just shipped your first open-source tool, or have a hard-won lesson to share, we want to hear from you.

What we're looking for

• Talks - Share a tool, a result, or a lesson learned with the community.
• Tutorials - Hands-on sessions that get people up and running with your software.
• Posters - Present work in progress and spark hallway conversations.

Topics span the whole stack: equilibrium and transport solvers, neutronics, materials and tritium modelling, data pipelines, HPC and machine learning, reactor design frameworks, testing and software engineering practices, and the open-source community itself.

Who should submit

Researchers, national labs, startups, and students. Novice to expert, first-time speaker to seasoned maintainer. If your work touches the software the fusion field depends on, there's a place for it at OSSFE.
